RTS DBP

Assigning Keys on a RTS Digital Beltpack (DBP)

RTS DBP

Digital beltpacks from RTS can be configured using the software packages IP Edit, AZ Edit and Neo.

There are some functions that the user can configure from the device itself, providing the device has not been restricted in the software application.

Understanding the DBP controls.

Changing the volume of a DBP channel

The left encoder controls channels A and C, and the right encoder controls channels B and D.

Left encoder

A single tap will select channel A; a second tap will select channel C.

Right encoder

A single tap will select channel B; a second tap will select channel D.

Tap the encoder until the volume display bar appears in the window corresponding to the desired channel.

Select the desired level with the encoder.

Enable/disable listen key on DBP.

DBPs connected to a matrix intercom system such as ODIN are in Keypanel mode.

To turn on/off the listen of a DBP channel in Keypanel mode:

Press the back button ( X  )  on the top of the DBP.

At the same time press the channel button A, B, C or D.

A green bar above the channel confirms the listen is on.

Pressing the channel key again will turn off the listen and the green bar will disappear.

DBPs connected to an OMNEO Main Station (OMS) operate in Partyline mode, where the listen is always on.

Assigning keys on a DBP

Keys assignments can be made or changed from the DBP, providing the key is not restricted in the software application.

To add a key assignment to a DBP:

Press the select button on the top of DBP.

Navigate to Setup > Key Assignments, pressing the right encoder to confirm selections and move forward.

Press the channel key A, B, C or D, or use the right encoder to select the key you want to assign. Pressing the right encoder confirms choice. The selected channel is displayed on the screen as shown in fig. 4

To change the assignment type (i.e. pt-to-pt, partyline, IFB etc.) use the right encoder to scroll to the function required, while holding down the A, B, C or D button next to it.

To assign or change the listen side of the channel, press the button next to TALK, and scroll to the assignment type.

The options are AF, AT, AM, and AR. In general, use AF (auto follow) or if assigning an IFB, use AT (Auto Table.)

Other listen functions are AM – auto mute and AR – auto reciprocal (this is a forced listen, always on)

For DBPs in Partyline mode the listen is always on and this cannot be changed.
