How to Input Groups of Channels into Wisycom Manager

This is useful if

• If your Wisycom bases have all the groups locked
• If you want to input a group of frequencies into one or several bases
• If you want to change names of bases quickly

To note: this only works with Wisycom bases with ethernet control!

Next connect your base(s) either directly to your laptop or via a flattened network switch. 

Open the network settings (in the top bar) and make sure the connection is set to ethernet.

Your base will show up in the ‘Discover devices’ box in the bottom right. If it doesn’t show up here first time, open the network settings and close them again. This refreshes the discovery list. If that doesn’t work, restart Wisycom manager.

Once your device(s) has appeared you should be able to see the IP address it is set to. Put your laptop in the same range.

If it still isn’t showing up here, use the bases to find the IP address.

On the screen on the front of the base go to menu, scroll to the bottom and click on info. Set your laptop IP to be in the range and continue following these steps.

Go to the network interface section in Wisycom manager to check the IP has changed (sometimes it does not refresh properly, so please check this!)

Opening the network interface selection refreshes the devices discovery, the bases should appear and fill in their details.

Now change the IP of the base. To change it, press the little edit button next to the IP address. 

This ethernet setting box will appear. Set your IP address. If you have a rack of bases, make sure each base is in the same IP range but not on the same IP.

Remember once you have done this you will need to change your laptop IP to this new range.

Remember to open network interfaces in Wisycom manager and check it has successfully changed in there as well.

Once it has connected successfully press the connect device button (the little up arrow). This will move the base up into the active devices.

Once in the active devices section you can access the main settings for the base. Press the small edit button (pencil button) on the base you wish to change the settings for.

A settings page like this one will open. This page slightly changes with the various bases we own. But the key information stays the same.

Now change your bases names.

Open the channel memory bank. Press the view button next to channels memory.

Now press the big edit (pencil button) in the top left. This will expand the menu along the top.

As our bases don’t get wiped after every gig, there will be a lot of random frequencies that aren’t relevant. To clear them all at once, highlight all the frequencies, right click and select Edit Sel. channel(s).

This menu will open. I usually then change the frequency box to 470000 for 470Mhz and also make sure Hidden and Locked are NOT selected. If these are the channels will be locked or hidden and not change properly.

Press apply and the highlighted frequencies will all change to 470Mhz 

Then reset all the group names and descriptions. To do highlight all the groups and descriptions, right click and press Edit Sel. group(s)

This similar menu will open. Delete everything in the Name and Description boxes and make sure Hidden and Locked are NOT selected. 

Press Apply and all the group names and descriptions should be cleared.

Now we start to look at filling in the relevant information for our job. 

Fill in the frequencies given you to by Ofcom or the client.

Here is what it should look like after you have filled in your information.

Press the arrow pointing to the right. This sends the changes to base station. 

Wait till the blue bar gets to 100%, then your frequencies will be in the base. 

Whilst you are on this page, save the frequency bank file, so you can copy it into your other bases or future bases. 

Select the frequencies you have input. If the front of the base doesn’t update, turn it off and on again. That’ll push a hard refresh to the base frequencies.

To load the file you made into more bases press the Load Frequencies button in the top left.

This menu will appear. Press the Select a file button and choose the frequency bank file you made earlier. You need to select the file for each base you wish to copy the frequencies to.

The bases you have input a file for will automatically tick themselves under devices. If not make sure they are ticked and then press the play button. This will input the channels/frequencies into the bases.
