To upgrade the firmware on a Cisco CB series network switch, follow the procedure below:

- Check the current firmware version from the Cisco website at the following link https://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/smb/switches/Cisco-Business-Switching/kmgmt-2524-2545-upgrade-firmware-cbs.html
- Download the firmware and make a note of where it is saved.
- Log into the switch using the following credentials:
IP address | 192.168.1.254 /24 |
username | cisco |
password | cisco |
You will need to add a new username and password, the default for Integrated networks switches is:
- Username: admin
- Password: Creat1ve
Log back into the switch using the new credentials.
Navigate to Administration > File Management > Firmware Operations in the menu.

Select Operation type: Update Firmware
Copy method: HTTP/HTTPS
Navigate to the location where the firmware was saved.
Click Apply

When this screen displays the firmware upgrade has been successful.
Navigate to Administration > Reboot and reboot the switch.
Please note that it will take approximately 5 minutes after the reboot for the switch to become active.
