Resetting a TP-Link EAP225 Outdoor Access Point

With the unit powered up, press and hold the reset button next to the network port until the LED on the side of the unit flashes green/orange.

If the unit is plugged into a closed network which does not have a DHCP server running, it will fail back to 192.168.0.254 with the credentials of admin / admin

If there is a DHCP server present, it will pick up an IP address automatically.  This IP address can be awkward to find but there is a quick way around this.  By default the AP broadcasts two SSIDs, TP-Link_2.4GHz_xxxxx and TP-Link_5GHz_xxxxx where the xxxxxx part is the MAC address of the unit.  The SSIDs do not have a password so they can easily be joined.  Once you have got a laptop to join the WiFi, open a web browser and navigate to https://tplinkeap.net

This will take you to the login page where you can log in using admin / admin
