Factory Reset to Upload Config
1 Press, and hold the power button on the bottom left hand until the second cycle of the LED flashing
2 Navigate to 192.168.1.254 after the switch has rebooted
3 Click the Username and Password field and type “cisco” |
4 Input the new Username and Password of “admin” and “Creat1ve” |
5 Click “Administration” on the left-hand side, followed by “File Management”, and “File Operations” |

6 Keeping the Operation Type as Update File, we have two options for our Destination File Type; Running Configuration, which will set the configuration to the currently running system, and Startup Configuration, which will apply the changes on a reboot. For this example, we will select Startup Configuration. |
7 Click the Choose File field and select the configuration you would like to upload to the switch. |
8 Click “Apply” in the top right-hand corner |
9 Click “Reboot” |
10 After a reboot, the IP address will now be set to what is stated in the config file – ensure you have updated what is written on the front of the switch (this can be done in Notepad before attaching the file). Now log in and your switch is configured.
11 Once logged in you will see a blinking save icon. Click this to save the current running configuration.
IGMP Snooping
1 Log in to the switch and ensure that you are using the advanced menu (located in the top right-hand corner)
2 Click Multicast, followed by IPv4 Multicast Configuration, and IGMP Snooping
3 From here, we can see if we have IGMP Snooping enabled, what VLAN have snooping enabled, and who their Querier is.
4 Selecting the VLAN and the edit button we change the settings we want in place.
Here, we are looking at VLAN 4, with snooping enabled and Immediate Leave turned off in the first section. In the second section, we can see this is the Querier as IGMP Querier Status is enabled and is also a part of the election process. Along with what the querier address is. In our case, this is user-defined as 192.168.21.2
5 After making any necessary changes, we click apply and close.
6 To save the configuration press the flashing save icon
VLAN Management
1 Log in to the switch and ensure that you are using the advanced menu (located in the top right-hand corner)
2 Click VLAN Management, Interface Settings
3 Select the port you want to look at and press the edit button
4 Here we can see what type of port it is, we want to know if it is an Access or Trunk port
5 Moving to Port VLAN Membership we can see what VLANs ports have been assigned to
6 We can make changes to the port selected by pressing Join VLAN
7 Here we can change the VLAN in the dropdown shown
8 Apply any changes, press apply in the bottom right-hand corner
9 Press the red flashing Save icon in the top right-hand corner
