Tait TB7100 Radio Base TX-RX Sync

The Tait TB7100 radio base works as a half-duplex line connected base when in constant Tx.

Tait Radio Base

To put the base into continuous Tx, the F4 button should be pressed momentarily, this will illuminate the Tx indicator. On some units a shorting cap may be present on the Aio cable which causes the base to be in continuous Tx without the need to press the F4 button. Short pins 2 & 3 to Tx.

While the base is transmitting it is important not to change the channel as doing so will result in the Tx and Rx channels becoming out of sync.

If the Tx – Rx switch on the front of the unit is moved between the positions, the channel should remain on the same number. If this is not the case, the Tx and Rx are not in sync which you will need to re-establish, by following the procedure below:

  • Note the position of the TX – Rx selector switch.
  • Ensure the base is not in Tx, if it is, press F4 until the Tx indicator goes off.
  • Move the slide switch to Tx and select the desired channel using the up and down arrow buttons.
  • Move the switch to the Rx position.
  • If the channel number changes, move it to match the previous selection.
  • Press F4 to place the base into continuous Tx.
  • Move the position of the selector to confirm the channel Tx and RX are ON THE SAME CHANNEL.
  • Press F4 to take the base out of Tx and repeat with the other channels.
