How To Use the CT Encrypted USB Drives

CT are using the U-Disk EP-KP001 encrypted USB drive to store and transport sensitive client data.  The drives are AES-256 hardware encrypted and ruggedised to withstand damage on site.

Connecting the Drive

Press the Unlock button.  The red and green LEDs will flash together.
Enter the passcode and press the Unlock button. 
If configured from CT the code will be 582000 (the CT phone number). 
If the drive has been factory reset, the code will be 112233.
If successful, the green LED will flash.  The drive is now ready to be connected to the computer.

A red flashing LED indicated the passcode was incorrect.

Changing the Passcode

This does not erase data on the disk.

Press the Unlock button.  The red and green LEDs will flash together.
Enter the passcode and press the Unlock button.

If configured from CT the code will be 582000 (the CT phone number).
If the drive has been factory reset, the code will be 112233.

If successful, the green LED will flash but do not connect the drive to a computer.

Press and hold the Unlock button for 3 seconds. Both red and green LEDs will light up together.

Enter a new passcode.  This should be between 6 and 15 digits.

Press the Unlock button.  The red and green LEDs will flash together.

Enter the new passcode again and press the Unlock button.

If successful, the green LED will come one and the drive can be connected to a computer

Resetting an Unknown Passcode

This WILL erase data on the disk!

Whilst the USB drive is off, press and hold the Unlock and 9 button for 3 seconds. If the drive has not been used for some time, you may need to plug the drive into a computer for a few minutes to charge up its built-in power supply.

Both the red and green LEDs will flash together. Enter “110” and press the Unlock button.

All data will be erased from the disk and the passcode reset to 112233

LED codes

Green LED flashing – Drive is unlocked and ready to be connected to a computer

Both green an blue LED on – Drive unlocked and connected to a computer

Red LED flashing – invalid operation, likely to be an incorrect passcode

Red and green LEDs flash together – Enter your passcode

Blue LED on – Drive locked but is charging from the computer
