How to Reset / Check-In a Tallyman/Ultrix PPU System

Quick start guide on resetting, checking in or upgrading a 4k PPU with Ultrix and Tallyman at CT

Tallyman

Open Tallyman Control Software
Click File; Open
Navigate to ‘D’ Drive – configs – Tallyman – and look for the most recent file named – CT_SYSTEM NAME_MM_YYYY_Default
Click open
Click Comms – Write Configuration

This will reset all naming, and any tally/programming changes.

By default, only three panels are included in the database – these are the 2U Engineering panel, 1U ENG 1 and 1U EMG Cut.

Ultrix

Open Dashboard software
Expand Ultrix in tree menu
Open ‘ALL XY’ soft panel and ensure that no inputs or outputs are locked – Note: The Lock may be in other soft panels, it will tell you if this is the case
Double Click on System Status


In system status window click database and check system is running the CT Default which will be named – CT_SYSTEM NAME_MM_YYYY
If not – click Load Database and select the CT default and press Load followed by Refresh

If a ultrix configuration has been saved for a specific event, this can be removed at the bottom in ‘Delete Database’

Click on Transfer Tab
At the bottom in ‘Import’ section click browse
Navigate to D drive – configs – Ultrix
Open the latest default file
Click Apply
Accept system overwrite message

This will reset all source and destination tables and soft panels.

Open All XY soft panel from tree menu, click Salvo; Recall; select All XY Default; Take

Open Ultriscape Layout Editor and remove any event specific multiviewer layouts.

Open Ultriscape Head Selector, and apply PVWPGM_10 PiP Layout to all Multiviewers

In case the default files can not be located on the Engineering Server, backup copies are also located on Dropbox // Vision & Media_PPU_Systems

Updating Ultrix

If updating an ultrix make sure you load the CT defaults into the database before commencing the update. Once updated you will need to re-export the CT default databse.
