E2 Bridge Shutdown & Restart

To cut down on wasting energy unnecessarily the E2 Bridge should be shut down when there is a prolonged period between events. These instructions cover the process.

Powering Up the Bridge

The circuit breakers for the power in the Rack Room are located in the far corner of the Deep Space Rack room. They may trip due to the inrush from the switchmode power supplies in the kit.

Switch on the air conditioning at the control panel next to the door.

On top of Rack One, plug in the EMO PDU. There will be a loose 16A CeeForm on the top of the rack that plugs into the PDU mounted on the top. Use an appropriate step or ladder to access the top of the rack.

Plug in the 16A Ceeform on the wall behind Racks 2. Ignore the alarm from the OpenGear frame.

Switch on the lower UPS in Rack 1. (Press the round main power button, wait 5 seconds, then press the small ON button for two seconds)
Turn on the UPS in Rack 2. The alarm on the OpenGear frame should stop, check the breakers in the White Space Rack Room if it doesn’t.

Rack 2 is fitted with delayed start PDUs. You will hear the relays clicking on so wait 10 seconds for them to completely power up.
Power on the Ultra in Rack 2 using the switch on the front if it isn’t already on
Power up the Ultirx crate. This is done by plugging the red and blue IECs into the back of the UltriPower 1u PSU in Rack 2. The IECs are buried in the rack but you can get to they through the open side of Rack 3. It is a bit fiddle to get in there
Switch on the top and middle UPSs in Rack 1.
Switch on the 13A plug next to the door labelled Genelec SPMs.

In the Bridge, switch on the all 13A plugs on the trunking along the far wall.

In the cable management flap of the far rear desk is an Intel NUC used for the Teams calls. Switch this on and log into Windows.

If not already powered up, turn on the Carbonite panel with the small switch on the back of hte panel. Switch on the Intel NUC next to he panel, log in and open Ross Dashboard.

Switch on the TF1 sound desk if it’s there/in use.4
Turn on the three 95″ monitors on the wall using the Samsung remote.

Shutting Down the Bridge

Shut down the two Intel NUCs (Teams and Ross Dashboard)

Switch off the TF1 if used.

Switch off the all 13A plugs on the trunking along the far wall of the Bridge
Switch the three 95″ monitors off using the Samsung remote.
Above each of the three screens on the wall are switches to turn off the Teranex. These can be a pain to find, so don’t worry too much about them.


Switch off the top and middle UPSs in Rack 1 by pressing and holding the small ON button for three seconds, then pressing the round power button in the middle of the UPS.
Unplug the Ultrix crate to help avoid surges when the system is restarted.
Power off the Ultra. This is done by unplugging the red and blue IECs into the back of the UltriPower 1u PSU in Rack 2. The IECs are buried in the rack but you can get to they through the open side of Rack 3
Turn off the UPS in Rack 2, ignore the alarm from the OpenGear frame.
Switch off the lower UPS in Rack 1.
Shutdown the laptop in Rack 3.

Behind the racks, unplug the wall mount 16A ceeforms behind Racks 2 and 3 ONLY.
On top of Rack One, unplug the EMO PDU in the top of rack. Use an appropriate step or ladder to access the top of the rack.

Switch off the 13A plug next to the door labelled Genelecs.
Switch off the air conditioning.
