Bolero Beltpacks Won’t Always Detect the Type of Headset Connected

Bolero beltpacks should normally detect the type of headset and therefor mic connected however this sometimes isn’t the case. If the mic is quiet or isn’t functioning how you would expect you can set the type in the menu.

Press and hold the menu button to get into the advanced menu. It’s worth noting that it is possible to lock out this menu from the Bolero antennas web page configuration but in a standard CT setup this won’t be the case.

Scroll using the right-hand wheel to Headset Type and press the 4 button to select. Use the same wheel to select the type of mic you have. Press the 4 button to select then the red Reply button to exit back out through the menus.

Here’s a video demo.

Riedel Pro D1 and D2 headsets are dynamic, and E1 and E2 are electret. Generally a dynamic microphone is slightly large with a visible diaphragm. The diaphragm needs to catch enough moving air to generate an electrical signal so are generally a little larger. An electret mic is smaller and has a constant voltage powering it from the beltpack.
