This article outlines upgrading Barco Image 4K OS procedure before version 3.0.0.
Requirements:
1. OS 2.0.4
2. OS 3.0.0
3. OS 3.1.0
4. v7.0.0
5. Barco service bulletin T-1420
6. Barco 3.1.0,3.0.0 Release Notes
7. 2x USB thumb drive
8. Screwdrivers to open the lid
9. Monitor with DP input
10. Mini display port to DP cable
11. Passive USB hub, USB keyboard and mouse
Guide:
- Download all the images and guides from above links
- Read Barco Service bulletin 1420, bulletin is based around EX frame but procedure is same for IP4K
- Create a bootable USB thumb drive as per the T-1420 guide
- Copy OS 3.0.0 and 3.1.0 and v7.0.0 to the 2nd USB thumb drive into an EM folder
- Power up the unit to make sure it’s working before the re-image
- Power it down and unplug the power source
- Get a Mini Display port to DisplayPort cable (must be this cable-HDMI doesn’t work)
- Remove warranty sticker
- Unscrew top and side screws and remove the lid
- Connect Mini DP to DP cable to the port on the motherboard and to the external monitor
- Power up the unit and make sure your monitor is set to DP input, you should see Event Master software after the boot if everything is working properly.
- Power it down and unplug the power source
- Get USB3 Hub and connect it to the USB port on the front of IP4K, plug in USB keyboard, mouse, and bootable USB thumb drive into the Hub
- Power up the unit and as soon as Barco logo shows up on the screen press DEL button on the keyboard.
- Now follow the procedure from T1420 guide on page 6.
- After the re-image reboot the unit, unplug all the cables.
- Now upgrade firmware versions with the 2nd USB thumb drive, first to v3.0.0 and v3.1.0 and then v7.0.0
