When shutting down a Fast-LTA Silent Brick Drive it is important to eject the Bricks from the Drive for transport. When the Drive boots up again it calibrates the eject mechanism, this process fails and Bricks become jammed if there are Bricks in the Drive at stratup.
To Eject a Brick
Before Bricks can be ejected, any volumes using them must be set offline. To do this, log into the Drive and select the volumes from the list in the left-hand menu. Once selected, click Set Offline.
Once all the volumes on that Brick are offline, the Unlock Bricks button becomes active. Click Unlock Bricks.
The Bricks are now ready to be removed from the Drive. The Bricks have a touch-strip along the front of them. To eject the Brick run your finger from the Bricks status LED to the e-ink screen, across the Silent Brick logo. The Brick will now be ejected.
Bricks should always be stored in their case to avoid damage to the data connector.
