How to Set Up Devices for Remote Monitoring Using the On-Site Monitoring System

The on-site monitoring system uses pre-made templates to monitor devices on the network. To get these templates to work the device being monitored must be configured to accept the requests sent by the system. Not all equipment has had templates made, so if anything is missing from this list, please let us know.

Riello 3kVA UPS with NetMan 204 card

Log into the NetMan’s web interface. Select Configuration from the menu along the top then scroll down the left-hand menu to find SNMP.

Under SNMP, ensure the service us Enabled
Under SNMP Version select SNMP v1/v2
Under Community, set the Get, Set and Trap fields to CT-SNMP-STRING

Panasonic Projectors

The templates for the Panasonic projectors use projector’s inbuilt webpages rather than SNMP or PJlink. The templates expect the username and password for the projector to be admin1 / panasonic

Cisco Small Business Switches (SG300)

Log in to the switch.

From the left hand menu select Security -> TCP/UDP Services and ensure SNMP is enabled.
From the left hand menu select SNMP -> Communities and click Add. If the SNMP menu is missing, ensure you are in the Advanced, not the Basic configuration view. This is controlled from the drop-down menu in the top right of all the pages.
To keep things easier we usually set the the SNMP Management Station to All so that any IP address can query the switch.
